Taekwondo The Martial Art
The intention of writing ‘Taekwondo, The Martial Art,’ is to further our understanding and development of techniques and mindsets, and highlight the importance of physical exercise. A great deal of hard work and time has gone into making this book, but it has been a truly exhilarating and rewarding experience. Above all, I wanted to give something back, to share my ideas and lifelong experiences (held the rank of Grandmaster for many years) with fellow practitioners. Taekwondo brings many rewards such as, that feel-good-factor you get from training, making new friends, learning, and winning.
Success is only achieved with dedication and hard work. Do not stop – inactivity will lead to defeat. Ultimately, life is about continuous self-improvement and education, irrespective of age. Theory, philosophy, history, poomsae, promotion, discipline, leadership, winning mentality, health (plus dietary regime), and betterment are included in detail.
I will continue to train and seek new challenges with determination and spirit, shared by taekwondo practitioners throughout the world. If you would like to read more about my personal Taekwondo experiences, I have revealed some of these stories in my book ‘How Life Is.’ I have included a synopsis of How Life Is, in this book.
From the outset, the original goal was to publish a book which could fit into the ‘Smart Thinking’ category within major book stores. However, as the book took shape, I found that the material reaches out to a much wider audience. How life is, looks at our purpose in life, our potential to grow; physically, emotionally, and financially.
Life is not always so simple, everyday acts that make us relax and smile are often interrupted with events that cause tremendous upset. ‘How life is’ offers a vision into self-betterment and ways to cope with shocking, dreadful times. No matter what your age or circumstances there will be aspects of this book that you will find helpful and encouraging.
Even if you have no idea what to do with your own life, reading this book could be just what you need to start making progress and lead a fuller, independent life. This unique material includes real life stories that readers will be able to relate to in some capacity, learn, and can incorporate the principles and thoughts into their own lives. The aim is to make it known what life has in store for you, offer guidance, and ensure as far as possible that independence and freedom is achievable, which allows you to live your life how you want to.
The author recalls that he has had many conversations with people of all ages, concerning making plans, their future, perpetual problems, and the passing of someone whom they hold dear. He thought to himself that he has discussed many of these situations in his book, which reaffirms that he must have done something right. He claims that life will be challenging and that you have to take responsibility and act while you have the capacity to do so.
Perhaps the short stories, and the exploits of the Author, a Grandmaster 9th Dan black belt in Taekwondo (Korean martial art), travelling and training around much of the World, with Olympic and World champions is intriguing and unique in itself. After reading ‘How Life Is’, it is hoped that you will find the experience enjoyable, insightful, and helps in some small way to prepare you for what is to come, and improve upon your very own existence.
